AMP - Asia-Pacific studies professor Prof. Dr. Jhohn MC. Arthy from Crawford School, Australian National University, was the main speaker on food security when filling in an international seminar organized by the Institute of Development Research Society (LPPM), University Malikussaleh (UNIMAL), North Aceh.
The seminar with the theme of "Vulnerabilty, Food Security and Social Protection in Indonesia" was held in the ACC Gor, Cunda, Kota Lhokseumawe, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 yesterday.
Prof. Dr. Jhohn MC. Arthy said he chose North Aceh and Aceh Besar as a research based on BPS both regions, including in the poorest areas.
He mentioned Babies are born with a small size is still above 30 percent, it is because the issue of nutrition showed that the two areas are still vulnerable to food.
"Aceh has a charity, if it is maximized well for the empowerment of the people it will help to reduce poverty in the two regions," he said on Tuesday, March 8, 2016
According to him, to reduce poverty in Aceh should not rely solely on farms and plantations.
"Policymakers or the Aceh government should revive the industrial sector," said Professor of the Australian.[lintasnasional]
